If you’re one of many workers that have undergone the huge transition from a physical office to a virtual workspace, you’ve likely had to make a lot of changes to your daily routine. While some of these changes have been challenging, one adjustment that has received more praise than criticism is the elimination of the commute.

By no longer driving to an office, workers are saving huge amounts of time – an average of 35 minutes per day, in fact. Rather than spending these extra minutes on your phone or watching TV, consider using this time to create your own work from home commute.

What is a Work from home Commute?

While you can use your saved commute time to do anything you want, creating a consistent and productive schedule will help you feel accomplished and ready to face the rest of your day.

This, in essence, is your work from home commute – your daily routine transformed and augmented by the extra time you save by no longer commuting. It can be tempting to use extra commute time to sleep in and pull up to your work computer in your pajamas, but doing so will ultimately make you feel unrefreshed and unproductive.

Rather, think about all of the things you wish you had time to do but don’t because work interferes. A virtual commute is a perfect way to introduce those activities to your day.

Ideas for a Productive Work from home Commute

While you have the freedom to make what you want out of your virtual commute, you might be looking for some inspiration as you get started. Let’s take a look at some productive ways to make the most of your extra time.

  1. Put on Your Favorite Work Clothes

Just because the office is gone doesn’t mean your dress shirts have to go with it! In fact, after dressing up for work for so long, your mind has been wired to connect work clothes with productivity. Not only does this get your head in the zone ahead of your workday, but it also boosts your confidence, as you’ll show up to meetings looking dapper and professional.

  2. Take a Walk

Exercise is one of the most coveted things among busy working professionals. It’s so hard to find time to go to the gym or out for a stroll when your email is always calling your name. As hard as it is to get yourself out of bed early, you won’t regret getting in the habit of putting on tennis shoes and getting some steps in before your workday even starts.

  3.  Visualize the Day Ahead

Do you have a goal for your day or an idea of what your workflow will look like? If not, you might be taken off guard when things don’t go as planned. Rather than walking into your day blind, sit down and picture how your day will go. This will help you set an intention and more easily correct yourself if something interrupts your workflow.

  4.  Brainstorm Great Ideas

Whether you want to impress your boss with a strategic idea or figure out the best surprise party idea for your best friend, your virtual commute is a great time to brainstorm. Once work begins, creative ideas become easily buried beneath the countless tasks on your schedule, so take advantage of the time you have outside of your workday to think creatively.

  5. Challenge Your Brain

Have you been wanting to learn a new language, try your hand at the piano, or complete a tricky puzzle? These are all great ways to get the cogs in your brain turning and ready to accomplish something great. Figure out a challenging activity that you would enjoy learning and give it a shot!

  6. Get Your Finances in Order

Nobody wants to see unpaid bills after a long workday. Consider planning your budget and managing your finances first thing in the morning so that you can relax after a long day’s work. Go the extra mile by looking up investment opportunities to get some passive income rolling in on the side.

Your time is valuable, and it deserves to be respected. As you figure out what routine works best for you in the work from home format, keep your sights set on what you care about most in life and use your time to extract as much value from every minute as possible.

As I’m sure you already know, marketing is a fast-paced and results-driven business. And with that in mind, it can be easy to dive into designing your next campaign under a tight deadline and end up being hounded under a big cloud of pressure from your clients or supervisors. While driving up sales should always be a primary goal, you also have your business’s reputation and image to uphold. Paying attention to the little things that may seem insignificant to you now might help save you after your next campaign goes live.

Below, we’re looking at a few tips on what to avoid doing when rolling out your newest marketing strategies.

Risking It All On One Campaign

One of the worst things that you can do is put all of your stakes into one marketing campaign that you believe will be a resounding success, only to see it flop. People have often seen companies as big as Coca-Cola and Nintendo try to launch big and exciting marketing campaigns only to see them fall flat on their faces. Similarly, it’s also not good practice to roll out a massive billboard or print thousands of brochures that you and your team think are excellent, only to be found in poor taste by your customer base. The bottom line is before you start making preparations with a campaign, make sure you run it by plenty of people and get the green light for safety as well as the overall message. It could be as easy as asking the person who sits next to your desk for their opinion.

Cluttering Your Ads

Imagine yourself on a busy street. You’re handed a flyer promoting a sale at your favorite store.  Still, as you start to look at it, you realize that you can’t see what the deal is actually for, how much the items are being discounted, or anything other than multiple logos or graphics seemingly placed randomly on the ad. You should consider your marketing campaigns more as pieces of art than as advertisements filled with lots of information. There should be one focal point that the reader will immediately be drawn to, and then there should be just enough information surrounding the image to support it.

Not Using Your Own Voice

It’s great to research strategies that other businesses use or have used in the past. But If you try to mix too many different strategies, you’re likely going to end up sounding like the world’s most generic ad that you see every day of the week right before the 5 o’clock news. In other words, every brand needs its own voice, its own mission, and its own values. You should be able to communicate with your customer base better than the other businesses can. The last thing you want is to sound like a big corporation that only cares about profits and making that next sale. One sure-fire way to establish your voice better is by engaging with your customers and learning about their interests and how they react to others.

Not Setting Goals

Now that you’re a bit more well-versed on the mistakes that could jeopardize bringing in new customers to your business, you should have a much better idea of how to plan and launch your next marketing campaign. However, it is crucial to keep in mind that you need to have clear and concise goals set up if you want your campaigns to succeed. If you don’t set a clear objective for what you want your marketing efforts to accomplish, you will likely waste time, money, and efforts!.

If you planned of starting a new business in 2020, you would be worried or might have even thought of shelving the plan; and understandably so. Times are tough and the factors that need to be considered while putting a perfect strategy in place have increased and in variety. Small businessmen/women did not have to think about whether a lockdown would affect their business regarding people getting to the stores or issues in the supply chain. The way people look at money has also changed. Studies are showing the changes in consumer psychology post-pandemic.

Why go Online?

As for existing businesses, the number and gravity of problems are immense. An unexpected wave of pandemic struck and alas, everything is shut. Online businesses haven’t experienced the impact. In fact, they have flourished. The reasons for that are obvious. So what about the physical, offline businesses? Can they transform themselves, get online and get going again? The answer is ‘Hell Yeah!’ We will tell you why it is vital to get your businesses online.

People in business perceive that their offline networks are good enough to get their businesses up and running and find themselves in a delusional space. It may sometimes work to take your business to the next level; you have to be open to the opportunities that the internet presents to you and have your presence in as many online platforms as possible. Imagine you have a supermarket and you have a good number of local customers. You are happy. What would be the next step for the business? Wouldn’t you want people on the road also stopping by and buying stuff from your supermarket? A good online presence can do that for you. When people are surfing for a place to stop by and buy things, your website might convince them to visit your mart.

Benefits of Having a Website for your Business

Websites also help in providing credibility to the business. A business that has a great design says a lot about the company. It gives your business an edge in the minds of the customers over your competitors. Showing the credibility of your business is a crucial tick in consumer psychology. Your website might be an introduction or first look at your business for a lot of potential customers. You can show them how serious you are with your company and setting a high standard will be beneficial in the long run. With the current generation being tech-savvy and rightly so since the world seems to be at our fingertips. Providing necessary information about your business like your values, goals, products, etc. is essential, proving your credibility and a bunch of links to your various online destinations that the customer can check out and learn more about you even without visiting your store.

By getting your business online, you can show your presence and sell your product to potential customers. However, when the customers look for a product, they may turn to competitors if you don’t have contact details on your website. Therefore, always link your contact details or buying options with easy payment so that you can get the aim of the business fulfilled. i.e., selling.

What are you waiting for?

Times are such that it has become increasingly important to have an online presence, especially websites that will help your business shine and stand out. Having said that, most have and can have a website. But the onus is on you to have an excellent website for your business. We at Saturn Web Developers are hellbent on helping you out with your business by building websites, strategizing and running social media campaigns, and other digital services to help you and your business to the next level.

Are you tired of waking up early? Driving to the office in those jammed streets with other half-asleep commuters. Slogging throughout the day, meeting client’s expectations, and gazing at the clock till it strikes 6 pm.
The next day the same thing again!
Sounds monotonous, right?
What if we say you can earn money any time anywhere, even when you are asleep?
Now here we bring you to the world of affiliate marketing.

Why be an affiliate marketer?

Affiliate marketing

What is Affiliate marketing:

It’s a referral program where you, as an affiliate, will be earning a commission on successful sales by marketing products or services on behalf of other Company.

How do affiliate marketers get paid?

Pay per sale: Your primary job as an affiliate shall be to get the consumer to purchase the product, and accordingly, the vendor or the enterprise will pay a percentage of the sale price of that product.
Pay per click: This is one of the challenging tasks where you as an affiliate will have to engage your customer to the extent that they will be moving from the affiliate site (from the referral link you have to generate) to the vendor’s or the merchant’s site. Here the pay depends on the increase in web traffic.
Pay per lead: The compensation of an affiliate depends on the number of information you have successfully converted. It’s a bit of a complex system as you have to persuade your customer to visit the vendor’s website. Be able to guide the customer through various other stages, whether subscribing to your newsletter or filling a contact form or signing up for a trial of a product or a service or whatsoever.

Tips to help you make a successful Affiliate:

  • Extensive market research
  • Begin with reviewing products and services – you can check anything physical products or any travel booking services.
  • It’s imperative to state why your customers would benefit from your products.
  • Recommend those products that you are familiar with.
  • Make use of several resources to know how your customers or investors respond. Promote your products from different enterprises.
  • Choose your campaigns wisely.
  • Do test and Optimise your conversion rate consistently.
  • There is a need for innovation now and then, so stay updated with current trends.
  • Focus on your affiliate traffic sources, as it’s essential to know where your traffic is coming from, which helps you understand the demographics.

The Bottom Line

At times Affiliate marketing can be money-making, but what most marketers fail to realise is it does take a lot of time, patience and money to make it a real one.

Also, remember to avoid putting all your eggs in one basket. If you’re hoping to build a rewarding website, diversifying your income streams is a smart move rather than focusing all your energies on one dimension. And suppose your affiliate marketing revenue dries up, traditional advertisements and selling your products can be your saviour!

It is quite unbelievable if you haven’t heard this term Social Media over the last few years as it isn’t a buzzword anymore. This phenomenon has completely changed the environment. Let us be more precise; it has changed the whole world and, particularly, the marketing dimension.

Facebook, Instagram, Twitter are filled with hundreds of millions of active users. Today’s modern world has changed its way of communicating with customers. Companies are often making use of social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter as their customer service tool. So if you have any complaints,  you no longer have to call or fill those forms through a long, arduous process. All you have to do is send a tweet or post your queries/complaints on the company’s website & wait. Hopefully, they respond to your tweet or post within a small duration of time to deal with your concern.

Gone are the days where organizations focused on long questionnaires, focused groups, and telephonic interviews to know their customers. But today, if you want to know something, you have to head to any social media group and find out the problems customers face. If you’re going to launch a new product, don’t know where to get started; put it out to the world of social media and ask them to wait for their responses to flood back. Phew! A tremendous change, I must say.

Let’s look at the significant reasons for your business to start utilizing these innovative tools of communication.

Showcase your brand:

social media offers another brand of a marketing channel for creating brand awareness, focuses on relationship building, and yes, it helps drive sales. So the question here is why not we use them? Especially when it is FREE! FREE! FREE!

Developing a loyal community:

Customers enjoy being a part of the business proactively building an interactive community. Such organizations help you make an emotional connection between your company and prospects, which is essential for your company’s growth and sustainability.

How can I forget? Social media helps you enhance your customer service: it’s a great feedback mechanism enabling your prospects to interact with your company and each other, leading to reliability and trustworthiness.

Increase Digital exposure:

why not think about going digital, which can create your very own online presence. Interesting huh! Social media makes one exposed to another unique world due to its worldwide excess sharing capabilities and many daily users.

Boost traffic and SEO rating:

Social media is a significant lead generator that frequently brings high-volume traffic to your website and can help with SEO since search engines significantly reflect your social media content. Facebook has a pixel and this bit of code that you can put on your website so they can track who is even visiting your website & you can mark it back to them.

Expand sales and audience:

You as a marketer can become more closer to customers. You will develop a unique sense of understanding their specific needs by listening to your prospects. This does help to increase your sales and expand your reach.

Reduced marketing costs:

what we have seen all these years is firms are burdened with huge overheads to traditional marketing like television, billboards, magazines compared to these “social media marketing is quite affordable”, and yes, you won’t disagree with us.

We understand managing Social media; taking care of all content tweets or feedback can be very tedious since you will be primarily focusing on your business; how about leaving social media stuff to us! And yes…we will make you go viral!

In the modern age of internet and social media, the gap between the rich and the poor, ordinary people and celebrities has reduced. People tend to replicate the lifestyle of celebrities and models. Nothing seems to be too far out of reach of the middle class. Millennials and Gen Z consume a lot of content on Television, OTT platforms, and YouTube. They are attracted to even shorter forms of content which is evident with the rise of TikTok, Instagram Reels etc.

In the 70s and 80s, people had their celebrity icons and trendsetters, but they were far from accessible. With the evolution of the internet, we can quickly check out what Dwayne ‘the rock’ Johnson is cooking for dinner. And through comments and DMs you might even get noticed by some of your idols; if you are lucky of course. Through social media platforms, you can check celebrities’ life’s ins and outs, their outfit for a party; their airport looks, the brand of their headphones, protein shakes they consume, etc. We also see them tagging or mentioning the product’s brand with the post, subtly or sometimes may seem pretty apparent that my friend is Influencer Marketing.

What is influencer marketing?

Influencer marketing is a form of social media marketing involving endorsements and product placement from influencers, people and organizations who have a purported expert level of knowledge or social influence in their field. The key factor driving this marketing strategy is persuasion and compliance. People generally compare the imperfections in their life to that of the influencers and try to fill their voids with the products that their favourite celebrities use to come as close to living the life of their dreams. The products are also smartly portrayed as keys to a complete lifestyle. The brands exploit the insecurities of the target customers to their advantage.

Is Influencer marketing legit?

Influencer marketing can be viewed as faulty. Influencers sometimes shy away from the truth and tend to do false marketing which could diminish their followers’ trust. Influencers sometimes do get paid before the marketing campaign, and that could be the reason as to why they do not feel the sense of responsibility to give out an honest review of the product. That said, influencers point out the positives and negatives of the products, which seems like a bold move because that could lessen their chance of obtaining lucrative brand deals in the future. Respect to all the real influencers!

Final thoughts

As customers, we may easily get carried away by some smart marketing ploys and spend our hard-earned money on the wrong products. Once we notice a product through the celebrities’ social media handles, it’s our responsibility to do our research and check out reviews from those who have used the product. Also, if we like products discovered through influencer marketing, it is always nice to post our honest reviews to help other customers and companies improve them in every possible way.

When you hear Digital Marketing, you might feel overwhelmed, but trust me it’s fun and interesting. Once you master the art of Digital Marketing, you’ll be unstoppable! Before we start talking more about Digital Marketing, let’s first know what is Digital Marketing? In layman’s terms, it’s a marketing activity done over digital platforms. I know now it sounds easy, but before we dive deep into Digital let’s first know what is Marketing.

Marketing

According to American Marketing Association, Marketing is an activity, set of institutions, and processes for creating, communicating, delivering, and exchanging offerings that have value for customers, clients, partners, and society at large. Marketing in other words, is Identifying and meeting the customers’ needs and fulfilling them at the right place & at the right time.

Marketers usually try to educate its target audience by making them aware of their products and services with various promotional activities, which helps to persuade the customers, which leads to the purchase of goods and services.

The Laws of marketing

  • Marketing is based on Science, not creativity.
  • Marketing is a game of persuasion.
  • The purpose of marketing is to build a brandtrust and capture the position in the minds of the customers.
  • Marketing is not only about selling, it is about maintaining a life long relationship with existing customers so that they can remain customers for life.
  • Word of mouth is the best marketing channel.

“Even when you are marketing to your entire audience or customer base, you are still simply speaking to a single human at any given time.” — Ann Handley

Now I’m sure you got some overview of Marketing, now let us see why Communication skills are important in marketing.

My answer to this question would be Yes, Yes because you need to communicate essential information effectively. A good marketer is all about good communication and storytelling.

  • A marketer must ask himself that “Am I able to transfer my thoughts to my audience effectively?”.
  • Effective communication skills open’s a window to build and maintain relationships.
  • Good communication overcomes marketing barriers.
  • Good communication establishes professionalism when marketing.
  • Good communication helps to innovate and to convey effectively.

Now you see why good communication skills are so important.

Traditional Marketing:

Time square - traditional marketing

Traditional Media Marketing is one of the oldest means of marketing medium and has a huge audience reach. Here the marketing activities are mostly offline and are in the form of television ads, radio ads, newspaper ads, billboard, walls etc. which leads to higher reach. These ads are usually used to educate a large audience and make them aware of the brand and its products and services.

Digital Marketing:

Social media marketing
Social Media Marketing

Digital Marketing is a marketing technique where a company uses digital media such as images, videos, GIFs etc. to market online. This can take place in the form of paid Social Media Marketing (SMM), Blogs, Influencer marketing, Email marketing, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Search Engine Marketing (SEM), Online video marketing, etc.

The power of digital marketing can be understood only when it is used to the fullest. A marketer can make sure that its ads are shown only to its targeted audience so that only product interested audiences see the advertisements. During the targeted advertisement process, if a certain group of an audience doesn’t make any conversion after viewing the ad, those audience members can be specifically re-targeted so that the same ad appears again and again till the conversion is made, which makes digital marketing an effective way of marketing and also cost-effective.

  • Social Media Marketing (SMM): The marketing activity on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat etc. Here the advertisements such as images and videos appear in between the feeds so that the audience can engage with it as any other user-generated content. These types of ads are usually engaging in nature, cost-effective and have a high chance of conversions.

  • Influencer MarketingThe marketing activities are done by the so-called influencers on social media platforms. Here the Brand directly works with the famous people over the internet within a niche to promote and demonstrate the products in front of the social audience. Easy to gain customers’ trust.

  • Email marketingThe marketing over emails, Here customer relationship plays a vital role, if the emails have a personal touch, then there is scope for conversions or else people tend to ignore or spam it.

Example: Engaging email with a personal touch.

  • Search Engine Optimization (SEO): A company or a brand makes sure that their website, products or services appear over the search engines so that there is free traffic to the website. Better SEO means better website reach and better site ranking.

  • Search Engine Marketing (SEM): A company or a brand makes sure that their website, products or services appear first on the results page so that they have a competitive advantage over their peers. This is a paid form of advertising and it is expensive.

Now that you got a detailed explanation of what is digital marketing different from traditional marketing and what are its channels. Let’s now go ahead with CATT Marketing Funnel.

Marketing funnel
Vector created by – www.freepik.com

A marketing funnel is a journey of your targeted audience to your target customer. The journey starts from the top of the funnel, Where the whole target audience is blasted with the ads. At the end of the funnel, only the potential customers are targeted and shown custom-curated ads, leading to the sale.

This Funnel is based on wealth, i.e… Wealth = n^CATT.

Where n = your niche.

In the above formula, your niche is your Wealth and is directly related to each other, so select it wisely.

C = Content: Your audience is your customers. Provide them with rich and quality content so that they remain your Followers forever.

A = Attention: In order to present something in front of your target audience, getting their attention to view your content is required.

T = Trust: Trust is an essential factor when it comes to marketing and sales. Customer buys or views content from only sources they trust.

T = Transaction: Once Content, Attention and Trust are gained, no more marketing is required. Customers themselves will purchase the product and also recommend it to others.

Integrated marketing

Integrated digital marketing, as the name itself sounds, It’s a combination of all the marketing strategies required to form a successful marketing campaign. It consists of Paid Ads, Content Marketing, Email Marketing and Social Media this all ultimately leads to Sells and conversion.

The idea behind integrated digital marketing can be best explained with the help of an example. Brand ABC Makes a post on “Best Office Furniture” on their blog but gets only 10 views organically, so they share the same on social media with a link attached to the blog post. Now they are able to get more blog visitors. In the same way, if the brand uses all these marketing strategies, the band can reach more potential audience than that of a blog alone.

As I said before More Reach = More Engagement = More Money!

Now that we understood the use of CATT funnel and Integrated marketing. Let’s hop into the last & final and most important concept that is Personal Branding.

Social media profiles of Elon musk and tesla
Fan followers : Tesla VS Elon Musk

When it comes to personal branding Elon Musk is a great example. Mr. Elon Musk has many ventures/Brands, but his fans consider him to be a better brand ambassador to all his ventures. Musk sometimes shares his Tesla ideas over his Twitter account and the post itself goes viral than that posted on Tesla’s business account. The same type of influence can be found with Kylie Jenner with her brand Kylie Cosmetics. People buy like crazy when she posts pictures of her products on her personal social media account. People love to hear from people, not the brand. The relationship between people and people is Deep and personal. This is the power of personal branding.

The process of personal branding is never-ending and it goes on forever!
